The LunchBox Kiosk, Tasker Millward Upper School, PembrokeshireClient: Pembrokeshire Council
Tasker Millward Upper School’s caterers needed to meet a challenge (faced by many schools), to serve large quantities of food in an ever shrinking time frame and under the constraints of limited servery space available.
To relieve the pressure off the main dining room servery and without the high cost or disruption of building works, RACS provided the client with this Lunch Box Kiosk concept. This was a cost effective way to increase the school’s catering capacity of pre-prepared hot and cold meals where all build work was completed off-site.
It is manufactured from fully welded 1.5mm mild steel corrugated side panels and 2.5mm tick mild steel corner posts with a protection and finish in the client’s choice of RAL colour.
Installed at either end are lockable personnel doors. An electrically operated security shutter opens the main serving area. The internal is fitted with Altro hygienic walls and non-slip flooring. It is fully wired to an internal three phase electrical distribution unit. A 30ltr capacity heater provides plenty of hot water for hand and utensil washing.
The client’s only requirement was to connect to suitable water, drainage, electrical and data services by the council’s other relevant contractor[s] and followed our recommendation for the installation of a shelter for use in inclement weather.
The council, school, caterers and pupils are delighted with the end result.
