The Dolaucothi Arms, CarmarthenshireClients: David Joy & Esther Hubert
The Dolaucothi Arms is a traditional coaching inn with a 16th Century Drovers inn behind it’s Georgian façade. The pub stands at the centre of a cluster of stone cottages in the village of Pumsaint and from their beer garden boasts views over the valley and the rivers Cothi and Twrch.
David Joy and Esther Hubert have run the Dolaucothi since 2013. When they arrived in the area the pub had been empty for some five years and was in need of some tender loving care as well as a major capital investment. After a prolonged refurbishment programme, involving RACS and the National Trust, RACS designed, supplied and installed the new kitchen at the Dolaucothi, it opening its doors once again in 2013 to the welcome relief of all within the community making the Dolaucothi Arms a vibrant and welcoming spot.
Since 2013 David and Esther have continually evolving dinner menus, driven by great local produce as ingredients come into season, the kitchen design and equipment provided, supports this diverse menu which reflects their continued success.
