Goodson Lodge Care Centre, WiltshireClient: Stepnell Construction
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) appointed Stepnell Construction for this £6.1m design and build contract to create a high quality 64 bed specialist dementia care home for local people in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
The facility opened in late Spring 2017. It was built on the site of the previous empty 1970s Paddocks Care Home which was demolished before starting construction work. It has a homely and welcoming environment for residents and offers a wide range of communal facilities including a café, hair salon, shop and cinema. RACS have worked with The Orders of St John Trust on other Care Homes and were flattered to receive yet another invitation to join the project team for this prestigious venture.
The client’s brief was simple – design the commercial kitchen to the same exacting high standards as other projects successfully completed by RACS for OSJCT and achieve a similar quality finish and performance. Utilising premier manufactures recognised as the market leaders in the catering industry, RACS’ selection of appliances included high output, low energy usage state of the art prime cooking and refrigeration equipment. The client’s objectives and end result had been achieved.
