Calon Café & Interiors, CarmarthenClient: Sian Woodhead
A refurbished premises that is home to a delightful café combined with a first floor gallery of high class interiors. With a modern Welsh menu and European influences it is dedicated to serving locally sourced home baked breads and cakes, hearty lunches and fresh coffee.
Sian Woodward, of Calon Café & Interiors friend’s recommendation was to consider utilising RACS for the work to be undertaken. After lengthy negotiations, and numerous visits to the premises to be refurbished, the RACS Projects Team were left with a challenge – to design and fit a stainless steel kitchen work surfaces in a building that had a number of unusual wall angles, all contained within a compact space, yet still leave sufficient room for the preferred seating arrangement.
To achieve the objectives, state of the art measuring equipment was adopted to ensure a “snug” fit was achieved for the bespoke angled stainless steel tabling and sink units, all having to be manufactured to close tolerances to satisfy the needs of the establishment. Further challenges were overcome by the manufacturing a bespoke extract canopy featuring a high performance, low noise level extraction system that would be in keeping with the close proximity of adjacent residential buildings and minimising any impact on residents.
