VENUE: This is a four star world-class resort set amidst over 650 acres of beautiful parkland. The Vale Hotel’s dining options are interesting and varied having two main restaurants and a private dining room on offer. Their elegant Mediterranean style restaurant has been awarded the AA rosette.
OBJECTIVE: The brief was to provide three new catering facilities. (a) Re-design the existing restaurant’s kitchen which was to undergo a complete refurbishment (b) Provide a "theatre style cooking suite" with associated ventilation for a new restaurant and coffee lounge (c) Install a blast chiller and bulk storage walk-in cold room on one of the lower floors with Rational regeneration ovens for the new Banqueting Suite located on the first floor. This combination was to have the capability to cater for up to 500 guests. All three facilities were to be commissioned and handed over simultaneously and within a restricted timeframe.
SOLUTION: Selected from a number of possible contractors and appointed by Mr Gerald Leeke of the Vale Hotel, RACS were instructed to apply a "design and build" concept to ensure that the facilities to be installed met all the hotel’s objectives. In liaison with the Main Contractor and The Vale Hotel staff, RACS provided and commissioned high quality market leading equipment within a very tight time frame and included an innovative series of Induction Hobs installed by RACS into the top of the Theatre Kitchen’s Servery Counter. These Induction Hobs are low energy users and also allow the ventilation system to be operated sparingly, ensuring considerable energy savings to be achieved.
OUTCOME: “RACS resources were fully employed allowing all layout drawings to be prepared for approval by the Vale Hotel within days of being awarded the contract with manufacture of the bespoke items of fabrication following shortly afterwards. All three facilities were installed to programme, allowing the Vale Hotel to open its new hospitality venues to its ever large following of loyal customers”.
