St. Vincent’s Care Home

VENUE: St Vincent’s is a purpose-built modern nursing home situated in an idyllic woodland setting on the brow of Haste Hill, adjacent to the historic Ruislip woodlands in Eastcote/Northwood, Middlesex.The home is situated on the site formerly occupied for almost 100 years by the renowned St Vincent’s Orthopaedic Hospital which has now been demolished.

OBJECTIVE:  The new complex required a modern kitchen to provide freshly prepared meals and a choice of menus which cater for all tastes and needs, particularly those requiring special diets.  The catering facilities were also to be extended to residents’ family and friends enabling them to order meals and dine together.

SOLUTION: Our vision of the proposed catering facilities required to meet the client’s objectives were approved by the Project Architect .  This resulted in RACS being co-opted onto the Design Team to enable these objectives to be fully achieved.  RACS were duly appointed as the main contractor for the kitchen fit-out with responsibilities for the installation of the mechanical & electrical services, ventilation, Altro wall cladding, Altro safety flooring, ceilings, lighting and of course the installation of all items of catering equipment.

OUTCOME:  “This scheme was one of four kitchen fit-out projects I have awarded to RACS Ltd in previous years.  They have a friendly approach and solve problems which arise along the way.  I would be happy to work with them again in the future”.
